In 2 Corinthians 5:9 the Apostle Paul expresses his life’s aim: Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to him (2 Cor 5:9).
Paul’s aim in life consisted of having… a godly ambition. Being of good courage, walking by faith, and prefering to be at home with the Lord (absent from the body), Paul strove to be pleasing to Him.
The focus of his life and ministry was in other words the noble, worthy, and good fight for excellence in all he did before God. Paul aspired to love what is honorable and to strive for the spiritual so that God may ultimately be glorified in Christ through his human labor.
June’s update wishes to reflect this spirit on behalf of ITA: pastoral training with ambition; we make it our aim to be excellent and grow with zeal toward that goal all the more.
